Planar unclustered graphs to model technological and biological networks

چکیده
Many real life networks present an average path length logarithmic with the number of nodes and a degree distribution which follows a power law. Often these networks have also a modular and self-similar structure and, in some cases usually associated with topological restrictionstheir clustering is low and they are almost planar. In this paper we introduce a family of graphs which share all these properties and are defined by two parameters. As their construction is deterministic, we obtain exact analytic expressions for relevant properties of the graphs including the degree distribution, degree correlation, diameter, and average distance, as a function of the two defining parameters. Thus, the graphs are useful to model some complex networks, in particular technological and biological networks. Modeling complex networks with self-similar outerplanar unclustered graphs
This paper introduces a family of modular, self-similar, small-world graphs with clustering zero. Relevant properties of this family are comparable to those of some networks associated with technological systems with a low clustering, like the power grid or some electronic circuits. Moreover, the graphs are outerplanar and it is know that many algorithms that are NP-complete for general graphs ...
متن کاملGeometric Inhomogeneous Random Graphs
For the theoretical study of real-world networks, we propose a model of scale-free randomgraphs with underlying geometry that we call geometric inhomogeneous random graphs (GIRGs).GIRGs generalize hyperbolic random graphs, which are a popular model to test algorithms forsocial and technological networks. Our generalization overcomes some limitations of hyperbolicrandom graphs, w...
متن کاملApplication of n-distance balanced graphs in distributing management and finding optimal logistical hubs
Optimization and reduction of costs in management of distribution and transportation of commodity are one of the main goals of many organizations. Using suitable models in supply chain in order to increase efficiency and appropriate location for support centers in logistical networks is highly important for planners and managers. Graph modeling can be used to analyze these problems and many oth...
متن کاملOn the M-polynomial of planar chemical graphs
Let $G$ be a graph and let $m_{i,j}(G)$, $i,jge 1$, be the number of edges $uv$ of $G$ such that ${d_v(G), d_u(G)} = {i,j}$. The $M$-polynomial of $G$ is $M(G;x,y) = sum_{ile j} m_{i,j}(G)x^iy^j$. With $M(G;x,y)$ in hands, numerous degree-based topological indices of $G$ can be routinely computed. In this note a formula for the $M$-polynomial of planar (chemical) graphs which have only vertices...
متن کامل$n$-Array Jacobson graphs
We generalize the notion of Jacobson graphs into $n$-array columns called $n$-array Jacobson graphs and determine their connectivities and diameters. Also, we will study forbidden structures of these graphs and determine when an $n$-array Jacobson graph is planar, outer planar, projective, perfect or domination perfect.
